24 months ago I had one of the craziest periods of business.
Several things happened and I just freaked out.
Out of frustration, I decided to go on Slack and I wrote out a chat post.
Probably should have slept on it right?
Nope.
In that moment, I essentially told the whole company:
“This is my vision, this is what we're doing, we're making it about the customers. And if you're not on board, I will pay you $15,000 To quit immediately.”
I hit post.
But here's the problem…
Some of the people we wanted on the team took my offer!
Why?
Because they were just fed up with the drama.
You see, I woke up one day, and I realized that I didn't enjoy going to work and I had a culture problem.
I didn't even want to go to meetings.
And I started figuring out there were some people on the team that shouldn't have been there.
Here’s the deal
C players will cost you your A players.
This lasted for about six months.
And it put me into a tailspin.
I was sad and I'm not a sad person.
I was having anxiety problems.
I was a little depressed.
And I'm on vacation in Costa Rica with the family and I was on my phone pacing on the patio pacing up and down the pool area.
So after losing more than 30% of my team I finally called my business partner, Matt.
He and I own a venture capital firm called High Speed Ventures.
I asked him if he’d come over to SaaS Academy for the next six months and maybe help me fix this.
His response: “I was wondering how long you were going to wait before you asked me that.”
What I learned over the next four months is what I want to share with you today because it allowed us to build the company to almost $20+ million in the next 12 months.
And we built one of the highest culture NPS scores we've ever achieved.
These are the 3 things that changed everything for me.

She basically said "It's not what you know, but who you know." That's not "brilliant", that's time tested and obvious. You told her before she answered not to include her supply or contacts, yet that's right where she went - to "the most valuable person I could find". The majority of people in the "workforce" don't have "access" to that kind of person, and the person they have access to probably wouldn't make much of an impact. Let's be real, the reason everyone's not running around as a business owner is because not everyone's cut out to be a business owner. Some are meant to be a workforce, and that's not a bad thing. Without a workforce all the ideas in the universe would never get off the think pad. The workforce is what actually makes it all work. Not only do they literally make your products, the workforce also buys your products. The workforce is just as valuable as the guy with the idea (the business owner) and in some aspects, more so. This question, however, is disingenuous in nature, and a trap. Here's my answer: Don't focus on the million dollars. Focus on TIME. Find a way to use your skillset to work for yourself. You don't need to be a "business owner" to work for yourself "by" yourself. Let them find another to work for nothing relative to their own windfall for an "idea" they can't actually produce.

It is safer, in my opinion, to diversify your investments, especially if you are doing so with professional advice. You may decrease the impact of a market crash by distributing your assets over a range of asset classes, such as stocks, exchange-traded funds, and so forth. Seeking expert advice is essential.

Many people minimise the importance of counsel until their own feelings become overwhelming. A few summers ago, following a protracted divorce, I needed a significant push to keep my firm solvent. I looked for licenced advisors and found someone with the highest qualifications. She has contributed to my reserve increasing from $275k to $850k despite inflation.

I lost over $70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Natalie Rose Strayer

Dan, we have benefited greatly with SAAS Academy. We have doubled our profit from last year, and we are on track to double again before year end (without debt our outside capital). One thing I resonate with is building into your team, to draw out their best selves. One question I quietly ask myself in any interaction with client or employee, is God what you are doing in this person and what part do I play in this moment. My big challenge is taking this to another level, as I know our upside is big. The largest service company in the world, just took on a partnership to sell our solution along side theirs's and am working with Vinay to flesh those out. Thanks for all the clarity you have brought to the table for us

I tried to take my life at 13 years old. My grandma said she saw in her dream Virgin Mary protecting me at the hospital. Forever grateful to have survived. I am now 22 years old, going to the university, working, writing & drawing, educating myself on money, with no debt or addictions etc. We are born to lead, especially us, eldest daughters. I still have difficulty in losing weight, socializing etc. Depression, environmental factors, lack of wisdom set me back in sooo many eays. But I carry on.

Terrible advice. Everyone may have a gem 💎 of advice that may be perfect for your needs at just the right time if only you had opened up. This dude is selling a mentality. There are plenty of options. But be careful overly restricting yourself to “copy” an image of what you want, you may not like what you get. Look for consistent advice like asking old people how important and fast running time is; you’ll get overwhelming consistency, which should then be ingrained in your accepted advice mental “files”.
